First Day by Ourselves

Anthony has officially gone back to work, but yesterday was not quite the trial by fire we thought it would be. Anthony had to work both jobs and I thought Dylan and I were going to have a long long day by ourselves, but we actually ended up having a lot of company! Jenny and Nemo came by with baby Omen, who is adorable. They brought food and did laundry and dishes; it was awesome and so so helpful. Later on that evening, Auntie Jocelyn stopped by with Dan to visit and I got to take a shower; it was a good day.

Dylan is doing great; feedings (which were our major problem at the hospital) have gone much much smoother since we have been home. He latches without a fuss about 90% of the time now; which for a baby less than 2 weeks old is fantastic. We have our second doctor's appointment for him tomorrow; at the first one, he had gained 3 oz since leaving the hospital and had grown a half inch putting him at 8'14" and 22.5 in. So hopefully when we go tomorrow, he will have gained back a little more...they tend to want them back at their birth weight by the time two weeks is up so hopefully he will be close to that. He has already gone up a size in diapers, we had to switch over to the size 1's yesterday. it's too fast; i already don't want him growing up!!

Finally Home

So after almost a week at MWMC, Mom, Dad and Dylan are finally home!! It felt like we needed a bellboy to leave the hospital. It took Anthony two trips down to the car just to bring all of our stuff out. We made our goodbye rounds around the L&D/maternity unit. Dylan was the hit of the ward. Everyone knew who he was and who he belonged to!! I cried when we left and all the nurses hugged us goodbye!

Our first night home went well; Dylan is a fantastic sleeper. He is such a calm and relaxed baby; we are so lucky!! We've already changed his clothes like 3 times!! haha; it doesn't hurt that he is so photogenic...

Waiting for Dylan

So it's Wednesday, November 25th (Thanksgiving Eve) and Anthony and I have spent most of the last few days...waiting for Dylan. He was due this past Sunday, so he is 4 days late at this point and seems very comfortable where he is at. I, however, am less comfortable and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival (and the return of my ability to sleep on my stomach). If he hasn't decided to make his entrance by Monday (the 30th), we will be induced at 8 am, so either way our sweet boy will be here by then.

I know you all are anxiously waiting to meet him also, whether in person or through this blog (hi mom and dad bernardi, grandma ginger and grandpa scott). Rest assured, his arrival and pictures will be posted as soon as we get home from the hospital!! We love you all and can't wait to show off our son!!!
